The Philippine Air Force and Pacific Air Forces held a civil-military engagement as part of the Cope Thunder PH 2024-1 at Basa Air Base, Floridablanca, Pampanga, on April 18, 2024.

Pilots from the 5th Fighter Wing, PAF; and the Pacific Air Forces engaged with Air Traffic Controllers from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in a discussion focused on the characteristics of the FA-50PH and F-16 aircraft.

The Philippine Air Force held the Joint Conduct of the Assumption of Command Ceremony of Commander, Air Logistics Command; Relinquishment of Command Ceremony of Wing Commander,  Tactical Operations Wing Northern Luzon; and Donning of Ranks of MGEN DENNIS G ESTRELLA PAF, on May 8, 2024, at Clark Air Base, Mabalacat City, Pampanga. 

MGEN AUGUSTINE S MALINIT PAF, Acting Commanding General of the PAF, presided over the ceremony.

The Philippine Air Force recognized its outstanding personnel during the first Flag Raising Ceremony of the month on May 6, 2024, led by the Acting Commanding General, PAF, MGEN AUGUSTINE S MALINIT PAF, at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

Several individuals and athletic teams were recognized for their outstanding achievements, including:

- 1LT ROCHELLE M MANALO PAF, recognized as an AFP GAD champion for 2024

- Sgt Nicanor R Jasmin PAF, coach of the Philippine Rowing Team, securing a Bronze Medal in the 2024 Asian Rowing Cup in South Korea

To showcase its diverse capabilities, the Philippine Air Force commenced the second part of its pre-anniversary exhibit series at the Old Legazpi Airport on May 3, 2024, coinciding with the #bicollocofestival2024 in Albay.

The Bicol Loco Festival, making its grand opening, is the first major festival in Bicol to combine a hot air balloon and a music festival.

The Philippine Air Force, in collaboration with PTT Philippines Corporation, Supreme Student Council Society of the Philippines, and PAF Officers' Ladies Club, held the 4th Literacy and Storytelling Program of "Avante Dante!" on April 30, 2024. The event, themed "Gift for Future Leaders: Unwrapping Literacy," took place at Bulwagang Makulot, Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas.

The personnel of 300th Air Intelligence and Security Wing, led by BGEN GLEEN ALBERT C LAGUARDIA PAF, Wing Commander, in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines Health Service Command (AFPHSC), represented by CPT ALDRIN JOHNN F MAGSAKAY MC, conducted a bloodletting activity on May 3 2024, at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

This activity is part of the Wing's celebration of its 47th Founding Anniversary. It aimed at supporting brothers-in-arms and dependents facing medical emergencies, surgeries, and chronic illnesses.

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) proudly welcomed 60 new military pilots during a graduation ceremony held at Fernando Air Base on May 3, 2024 with LTGEN STEPHEN P PARREÑO PAF, Commanding General of the PAF, as the Guest of Honor.

These graduates from Military Pilot Training (MPT) Class 2024 Alpha, successfully completed the rigorous MPT course at PAF Flying School. Among them are 53 male and 7 female officers, all now adorned with the Aeronautical Badge.

COMMANDING GENERAL’S MEDAL AWARD

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) awarded the Philippine Air Force with the PRIME-HRM Maturity Level 2 for Learning and Development and Performance Management at the PAF Headquarters in Pasay City on April 29, 2024.

The PRIME-HRM, which stands for Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management, empowers government agencies to develop their HR practices towards excellence.

The Chief of Staff of the Philippine Army, MGEN POTENCIANO C CAMBA PA, paid a courtesy visit to the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, LTGEN STEPHEN P PARREÑO PAF, on April 30, 2024, at Headquarters PAF, Col Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

During the meeting, the two leaders explored potential training collaborations aimed at enhancing joint military operations for both the Philippine Air Force and the Philippine Army.
 

MGEN KENNETH S HARA, Hawaii Adjutant General, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to LTGEN STEPHEN P PARRENO PAF, Commanding General, Philippine Air Force on April 29, 2024, at the PAF Headquarters.

Both leaders discussed ways to enhance collaborative engagement and bolster the partnership between the PAF and the Hawaii Air National Guard (HIANG), underscoring their commitment to upholding a rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) formally received one TPS-P14ME Mobile Air Surveillance Radar System from Japan's Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in a ceremony held at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City, on April 29, 2024.

During the ceremony, His Excellency Oniki Makoto, Japan State Minister of Defense, underscored the importance of the strategic partnership between Japan and the Philippines in strengthening regional peace, security, and stability.
