PAF PROVIDES AERIAL SUPPORT FOR CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF MARITIME AREAS IN NORTHERN LUZON SEABOARD

On February 24, 2024, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) provided aerial support to the Northern Luzon Command's (NOLCOM) Maritime Air Patrol (MARPAT) operations in the Northern Luzon Seaboard.

Executing the mission with a C-295 aircraft, the PAF covered key areas, including Itbayat, Sabtang, and Babuyan Islands. No significant activities or sightings were reported during the monitoring of these areas.

PAF EXTENDS FREE DENTAL SERVICES TO ANGONO, RIZAL RESIDENTS

On February 24, 2024, the Philippine Air Force(PAF), in collaboration with the Supreme Student Council Society of the Philippines (SSCSP OHANA) and various medical institutions, conducted a dental mission benefiting approximately 100 residents of Brgy. Mahabang Parang, Angono, Rizal.

Two PAF dental teams delivered services, including tooth extractions, fluoride applications, dental check-ups, and an educational campaign promoting oral healthcare.

FOREST FIRE RAGES AGAIN IN BENGUET, PAF RESPONDS WITH HELI BUCKET

A Super Huey Helicopter, operated by the 505th Search and Rescue Group of the Philippine Air Force, was deployed on February 21, 2024, to respond to two forest fires; one at Mt. Camisong in Itogon, Benguet, and another in Brgy Adonot, Bokod, Benguet.

Performing a series of heli bucket operations, the aircraft collected water from the Sto. Tomas Water Reservoir and Banao River.

PAF TROOPS LACE-UP FOR FITNESS AS TAEBOO-TAKBO PROGRAM RESUMES

After being temporarily suspended due to the pandemic, the Philippine Air Force resumed the conduct of the Taebo-Takbo Athletic Activity led by the Commanding General, PAF, LTGEN STEPHEN P PARREÑO PAF, at Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base on February 13, 2024.

In his message, the CG, PAF reminded all PAF personnel to perceive this activity as an investment in their health, emphasizing that the Taebo-Takbo is an opportunity to relish the spirit of camaraderie while improving everyone's fitness. 

PAF LAUDS ACHIEVEMENTS OF PAF PERSONNEL DURING FLAG RITES

The Philippine Air Force held the First Monday of the Month Flag Raising Ceremony, led by the Commanding General, PAF LTGEN STEPHEN P PARREÑO PAF, on February 5, 2024 at the HPAF Quadrangle, CJVAB, Pasay City, alongside the HPAF Staff, Unit Commanders, other Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Human Resources from CJVAB units.

Consequently, the CG, PAF, and other PAF personnel were recognized for their various accomplishments as follows:

PAF HOLDS THANKSGIVING MASS ON FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH AT CJVAB

In the spirit of gratitude and faith, the Philippine Air Force observed the First Friday Mass for February at the Our Lady of Loreto Chapel, CJVAB, Pasay City on February 2, 2024.

The solemn activity was attended by the Commanding General, PAF, LTGEN STEPHEN P PARREÑO PAF, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Parreño, the Chief of Air Staff, MGEN FABIAN M PEDREGOSA PAF, other officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources.

 

PAF HOLDS JOINT CHANGE OF CHIEF OF OFFICE OF AFSO AND SAS

The Philippine Air Force held a Joint Change of Chief of Office Ceremony for the Air Force Safety Office (AFSO) and Office of the Secretary to the Air Staff (OSAS) at the Hall of Flags, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City on January 31, 2024.

The outgoing Chief, AFSO, COL ERNESTO DL BAUTISTA JR PAF (GSC), relinquished his duties and responsibilities to LTC ANTHONY R AMORA PAF (GSC).

Meanwhile, the outgoing Secretary of Air Staff, COL RALPH Y HIBIONADA PAF (GSC), relinquished his post to COL ARVIN JOEL N BUAN PAF (GSC).

UPDATE: ITOGON, BENGUET FOREST FIRE, 60% EXTINGUISHED

Despite operational limitations at night and the challanging mountainous environment including strong winds, the 505th Search and Rescue Group of the Philippine Air Force has extinguished 60% of the forest fire in the mountains of Itogon, Benguet.

The forest fire, which started on January 26, 2024, covering a wide area of over 50 hectares, affected the barangays of Dalupurip and Tinongdan. Since January 27, 2024, a total of two Huey helicopters have been deployed in an effort to control the spread of fire.
