PAF REHABILITATES FACILITIES IN MACTAN AND PALAWAN

The Philippine Air Force has completed the repair and rehabilitation of its facilities and structures at the Brigadier General Benito N Ebuen Air Base in Mactan, Cebu and in Antonio Bautista Air Base in Palawan that were damaged following the onslaught of Typhoon Odette. 

Meanwhile, utilizing its available air assets, the PAF have performed 866 sorties with a total of 1,689,213 lbs of cargoes. Cargoes which includes relief goods, food packs and equipment were transported to several locations in Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Palawan. 

PAF ACTIVATES AIR INSTALLATION AND BASE DEVELOPMENT COMMAND

The Philippine Air Force conducted the Organization and Activation Ceremony of the Air Installation and Base Development Command (AIBDC) on February 22 2022 at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City with the Commanding General, PAF, LTGEN CONNOR ANTHONY D CANLAS SR PAF as Presiding Officer. 

Meanwhile, the 520th Air Base Wing was reorganized into 520th Air Base Group which will be falling under the command of the Commander, AIBDC.

AIR POWER PARK AND ARCHANGEL FACADE BLESSED AND INAUGURATED

The Air Power Park was blessed and inaugurated on February 18, 2022 as part of the PMA Alumni Homecoming 2022 Activities in Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City.

The park showcases the capabilities of PAF through a variety of aircraft on static display; this includes SIAI Marchetti AS-211, Cessna T-XMR, McDonnell Douglas MD-520MG Defender, Ling Temco Vough F-8H Crusader, and Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm (BO-105C).

The park honors the heroism of air men and women who dedicated their lives to the Filipino people and served the nation unselfishly.

PAF PARTNERS WITH BREADTALK; DISTRIBUTES BREAD TO LESS FORTUNATE

The Philippine Air Force, through the Air Logistics Command, Civil Military Operations Group and, Air Force Public Affairs Office, distributed bread products to the homeless, the less fortunate and frontliners; this is done in partnership with BreadTalk Charity.

The breads are distributed daily to the frontliners to show support and express gratitude for being at the frontlines since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and to the less fortunate, for them to feel that amidst the global crisis the PAF is always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. 

THE HEROIC ACT OF A PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE PERSONNEL IN PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN

A Philippine Air Force personnel, Sgt Markphil Ulzoron PAF, displayed gallantry when he intercepted a suspect Mr. Dindo Badilla in Brgy. San Jose, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on February 16, 2022. 

Sgt Ulzoron did not hesitate to respond to the plea for help of two concerned citizens, Dante Diaz and Mhacky Conception who were going after Dindo Badilla, a resident of Aborlan, Palawan who allegedly stabbed and hacked a man with a bolo who was believed to be his live-in partner’s lover.

PAF Celebrates 77th Anniversary of the Retaking of Nichols Airfield in World War II

The Philippine Air Force, together with the city government of Pasay, led a wreath-laying ceremony in connection with the 77th Anniversary of the Retaking of Nichols Airfield in World War II at the site of the Local Historical Marker at Brgy 183, Villamor, Pasay City on February 15, 2022.

The PAF annually commemorates the gallantry and heroism of Filipino and allied veterans of the Second World War. The celebration of the retaking of Nichols Airfield also promotes renewed consciousness of the eternal values of democracy, freedom, peace and love of country. 

PAF PARTICIPATED IN UP NCPAG CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM

The UP NCPAG hosted the closing ceremony of the Capacity Building Program, a 3-module training program for Air Force, on 20 January 2022 which was attended by forty-two (42) participants via online platform. The said program aims to introduce the concepts, principles, and processes of public financial management.

Meanwhile, five (5) students were awarded during the ceremony as top participants of the program, namely: LTC VITO MINLO V SARMIENTO PAF, CPT EDDIE F GALLISTE PAF, Engr Jaybel Jay N Abela Civ HR, Engr Carl Jerome I Austria Civ HR, and Ms Ernalyn M Torres Civ HR.
