PAF HOLDS JOINT CHANGE OF CHIEF OF OFFICE OF AFSO AND SAS

The Philippine Air Force held a Joint Change of Chief of Office Ceremony for the Air Force Safety Office (AFSO) and Office of the Secretary to the Air Staff (OSAS) at the Hall of Flags, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City on January 31, 2024.

The outgoing Chief, AFSO, COL ERNESTO DL BAUTISTA JR PAF (GSC), relinquished his duties and responsibilities to LTC ANTHONY R AMORA PAF (GSC).

Meanwhile, the outgoing Secretary of Air Staff, COL RALPH Y HIBIONADA PAF (GSC), relinquished his post to COL ARVIN JOEL N BUAN PAF (GSC).

PAF FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE AGAINST WILDFIRE IN ITOGON, BENGUET

Utilizing two Super Huey helicopters, personnel from the 505th Search and Rescue Group of the Philippine Air Force continue to battle the wildfire in Brgy. Dalupirip, Municipality of Itogon, Benguet, on January 29, 2024. Since Saturday morning, the helicopters, equipped with a Bambi bucket, have been performing water drops in an attempt to contain the fire, which started on January 26, 2024.

UPDATE: ITOGON, BENGUET FOREST FIRE, 60% EXTINGUISHED

Despite operational limitations at night and the challanging mountainous environment including strong winds, the 505th Search and Rescue Group of the Philippine Air Force has extinguished 60% of the forest fire in the mountains of Itogon, Benguet.

The forest fire, which started on January 26, 2024, covering a wide area of over 50 hectares, affected the barangays of Dalupurip and Tinongdan. Since January 27, 2024, a total of two Huey helicopters have been deployed in an effort to control the spread of fire.

PAF CHIEF VISITS TROOPS IN TAWI-TAWI; COMMENDS THEIR EFFORTS

The Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, LTGEN STEPHEN P PARREÑO PAF, commended the personnel of the 5135th Air Base Squadron, Tactical Operations Group Sulu-Tawi-Tawi, for their hard work and contributions in achieving the PAF's mission, during his official visit to Sanga-Sanga Island in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on January 24, 2024.

PAF JOINS NATION IN CELEBRATING 125 YEARS OF FREEDOM

Honoring the heroism of Filipinos who liberated the country from colonialism, LtGen Stephen P Parreño PAF, Commanding General, Philippine Air Force, joined President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr and the Nation in commemorating the 125th anniversary of the First Philippine Republic at the Barasoain Church, Malolos, Bulacan.

LtGen Parreño and other government and AFP officials witnessed the historical wreath-laying of President Marcos on the monument of Gen Emilio Aguinaldo on January 23, 2024.

PRESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT ON MARITIME CONCERNS VISITS THE PAF

The Presidential Assistant on Maritime Concerns (PAMC), Secretary Andres C Centino held an executive session with the Vice Commander, PAF, MGEN RAMON J GUIANG PAF on January 17, 2024, at the Staff Lounge, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City. 

The session explored potential areas of mutual interest and cooperation between two parties. Further, Secretary Centino, also sought to harness the capabilities of the PAF to enhance the nation's maritime security.

AIR FORCE AND PTT PHILIPPINES FOUNDATION INC. COLLABORATE ON PAARAL PROGRAM
