PAF NC212i ARLIFTS PPEs FOR WESTERN VISAYAS

The NC212i aircraft of the Philippine Air Force airlifted various Personal Protective Equipment from BGen Benito N Ebuen Air Base, Lapu-Lapu City to Iloilo International Airport on March 28, 2020.

A total of 31 boxes of PPEs were donated to Western Visayas Medical Center, Iloilo City from the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas in cooperation with the officials of Western Visayas. The activity was also in collaboration with the local and national government agencies fighting against COVID-19.

PAF FORMULATES 70% ETHYL ALCOHOL AND HAND SANITIZER

While the government is working on and collaborates with foreign countries in the research for the cure of COVID-19, the less we can do for now is to practice good hygiene routine. One of which is the practice of hand washing and the use of disinfectants like alcohol is very essential.
 
With this, the TESDA trained personnel of Tactical Operations Group 11 (TOG 11), Philippine Air Force under the leadership of LTC FLORANTE S BATERINA PAF (GSC) formulated a 70% ethyl alcohol with the same formula with those available commercially on March 14, 2020. 
 

710TH SPOW DEPLOYS CBRNE PERSONNEL, USES RECYCLED FACE MASKS

The 710th Special Operations Wing personnel of the Philippine Air Force led by BGEN EDWARD L LIBAGO AFP, deployed to the frontlines in support to the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, use improvised masks made out of recycled used plastic bottles to protect themselves against the threat of COVID-19. This initiative was carried out due to the lack of available face masks in the market at the onset of COVID-19.

PAF TRANSPORTS PPEs AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR COVID-19

The Philippine Air Force, under the leadership of LTGEN ALLEN T PAREDES AFP, continues to provide tactical airlift to support our government’s drive to stop the spread of COVID-19 virus.

Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao, through the coordination made by Tactical Operations Group 11 under the leadership of LTC FLORANTE S BATERINA PAF (GSC), facilitated the immediate transport of Test Kit specimens and airlifted various medical supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) via the C-130 military aircraft from Manila to Davao City on March 25, 2020.

TOG 11 FORMULATES 70% ETHYL ALCOHOL

Personnel (TESDA Trained) from Tactical Operations Group 11 in Davao City formulated 70% ethyl alcohol (with the same formula with the alcohol sold commercially) since such disinfectants are running out of stock in local pharmacies and stores due to pandemic Corona Virus 2019. Since the raw materials are limited, the distribution of which is only for the consumption of Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao personnel for them to have something to fight or to minimize and control the spread of bacteria and viruses.

PAF AIRLIFTS COVID-19 SPECIMENS FOR TESTING

In support of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease and JTF-NCR, and in coordination with the Department of Health, the Philippine Air Force airlifted laboratory specimens from various points in the country on Wednesday morning, March 18, 2020. 

The PAF NC212i #2120 flew to Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Mactan, and Iloilo to pick-up a total of 78 sealed laboratory specimens which will be brought to a testing center in Manila for initial diagnostic testing for COVID-19.
