THE PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE WARMLY WELCOMES NEWLY APPOINTED AIR CHIEF

MGen Stephen P Parreño PAF was sworn in as the 39th Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force during the Change of Command Ceremony on December 20, 2022 at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr as the Presiding Officer.

MGen Parreño is a member of the PMA “Sambisig” Class of 1991, in which he was the lone "Starman" (a highly distinguished cadet for both academics and conduct) and graduated as class Salutatorian. He grew his wings in the Philippine Air Force as a skillful and competent pilot, officer, and an athlete. His leadership and managerial skills enabled him to handle key leadership and management positions at the tactical, operational, and strategic units and levels of the PAF.

Notably, he was directly involved in the Air Mobility efforts of the PAF during the Battle of Marawi where he flew as the Flight Commander of the C-130 flights, flying to and from Guam and Arizona to the Philippines, to pick-up and transport logistics for the sustainment of the ongoing Joint Operations.

MGen Parreño was the Acting Vice Commander, PAF, concurrent to his position as the Chief of Air Staff, prior to his appointment as the 39th CG, PAF.
