PAF WELCOMES NEW PILOTS

Thirty-nine new pilots received their Aeronautical Badge (Pilot's Wings) after completing their Military Pilot Training (MPT) course at the Philippine Air Force Flying School (PAFFS). The traditional graduation ceremony was held at the Air Education and Training Command Hangar A, Fernando Air Base, Lipa City last March 24, 2015.

The occasion was graced by LT GEN JEFFREY F DELGADO AFP, the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force as the Guest of Honor in the ceremony and presented the diplomas to the graduates. The Commandant of the PAF Flying School, COL RENE S DIAZ PAF (GSC), presented the graduates to the Acting Commander of the AETC, MGEN MELCHOR B MISON JR AFP, who in turn declared the MPT Class 2015-A as graduates.

The ceremony was highlighted with the awarding of medals to the following achievers:

2LT BOONE LEO L OCAMPOS O-16887 PAF CG, PAF MEDAL - for obtaining the highest over-all rating in the MPT with an average grade of 97.82% COMMANDER, AETC MEDAL- for obtaining the highest over-all rating in the academic phase of MPT with an average grade of 97.149%.

1LT HIDEKI JAN H JUBAY O-16468 PAF McMICKING AWARD- for obtaining the highest over-all rating in the flying phase of MPT

2LT JOHN VINCENT R SALCEDO O-17052 PAF VICENTE RIVERA AWARD- for obtaining the highest over-all rating in the instrument flying phase of MPT.

The graduates of the MPT took their oath right after the awarding, as members of the PAF Flying School Alumni Association Incorporated (PAFFSAAI) led by BGEN ARNOLD A MANCITA AFP, Commander, 250th PAW and also the Chairman of the PAFFSAAI Board.

CG, PAF congratulated the graduates and encouraged to be committed to fly safely and serve well for the country. May the spirit of integrity that the AETC has instilled in you be your guidepost as you perform your duties. CG, PAF remarked in his speech.

After graduation they will be assigned to different flying units of the the PAF. They are the generations who are fortunate to see the modernization of the PAF unfold with the arrival of brand-new C-295s and CN-212s airlift aircraft, B-412s Combat Utility Helicopters, AW-109 Attack Helicopters and FA-50 Lead-in fighter jets soon to be delivered beginning this year.
