300th AISW Holds Safety Symposium

The 300th Air Intelligence and Security Wing is currently undertaking a "top speed" approach in transforming its capabilities to be more responsive to the end goals of the Philippine Air Force.

In line with the PAF's Safety Policy, "BLUE TEAM @ TOP SPEED: Safety Advocates towards Peace and Resilient Development", the Wing lined up several safety activities to promote a positive safety culture to its personnel and work place such as the conduct of the First Quarter Safety Symposium on March 21, 2018 at 307th Air Intelligence Training Squadron Multipurpose Hall, 300th AISW, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

The symposium centered on the following topics: common illnesses during summer, PAF accident/incident, and Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Law with vehicle safety tips.

In his message, which was read by Colonel Loreto B Pasamonte PAF (MNSA), the Director of Operations of the Wing, Colonel Teofilo R Bailon Jr PAF (GSC), the Acting Wing Commander, highlighted the importance of the symposium saying that accidents are preventable; moreover, human errors cannot be eliminated but can be mitigated. Having said this, the latter urged the personnel to always identify hazard and apply risk management in all types of operations. He also enjoined everyone to ensure consistent efforts in the pursuit of a just culture.

During the symposium, three of the Wing's personnel were given Commendation Letters in recognition of their commitment in identifying, reporting and reducing hazards, and in promoting a positive safety culture at 300th AISW.
