The Philippine Air Force C-295 of the 220th Airlift Wing led by no less than the commander himself, MAJ ROMMEL BESORIO PAF ferried the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte from Davao to Lumbia Airport, Cagayan de Oro and from Laguindingan Airport back to Davao International Airport last July 07, 2017 to visit and check on the deployed troops especially those who are directly involved in the Marawi campaign.

This was not the first time that PRRD boarded the PAF C-295 aircraft. During his inspection to the damages caused by typhoon Ferdie to Batanes last October 2016, PRRD was able to put on his trust to the airlifters and boarded using the same aircraft his using today.

On the other hand, MAJ BESORIO said that, "having the President on board, is truly a rewarding experience...his trust and confidence in our capability and airlift services will always be our source of inspiration" One of the veterans flight attendants said that "that very rare opportunity is one distinct privilege and honor and felt it was like the first time" -Sgt Lani Avenido PAF.

Preparing for a Presidential flight is not an easy task. It was quick but thorough flight check. Every aspect of flight must be coordinated and timed properly, ensuring that a smooth and comfortable flight for our hardworking President. MAJ BESORIO said that having a "Kalayaan One" call sign spells a lot of difference. And thus, the President's confidence is one true mark of our better airlift services
