21 June 2017

The Philippine Air Force on Tuesday evening, June 20, 2017, transported President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and nine soldiers, who sustained wounds after fighting the Maute terrorist group in the recent Marawi City clash, utilizing the Presidential plane of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing.

Apart from these soldiers who experienced flying with the President aboard the Presidential plane, there were other wounded soldiers who were also transported in Manila via the C-295 aircraft of the 220th Airlift Wing.

These soldiers were brought by the President from Camp Edilberto Evangelista Station Hospital in Cagayan De Oro City to Metro Manila for better medical treatment.

President Duterte along with some government officials such as Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go and Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson visited Marawi City to distribute relief goods for the Marawi evacuees in Iligan City. From there, he decided to bring along with him back to Manila some of the wounded soldiers.

This simple act only signifies the love of the President to his soldiers.
