24 April 2017

“Even the smallest act of caring, has the potential to turn a life around.”

Paying it forward. This was the core topic that was mooted by the alumni of the Philippine Air Force Educational Fund Incorporated (PAFEFI) who spoke before the members of the Board of Trustees and grantees during the alumni gathering held on April 21, 2017 at Villamor Air Base Officers’ Club, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

Since its inception in 1958, the efforts of the PAFEFI have helped change the lives of hundreds of PAF dependents through education.

With this year’s theme, “59 Years of transforming PAF Youth through Educational Commitment,” the alumni and grantees coming from different parts of the archipelago did not only gather for a meet and greet, but to also commemorated the accomplishments of organization and thanked its generous sponsors for extending their indefatigable support.

Formerly known as Clark-PAF Educational Fund Inc. (CPAFEFI), the organization was established with the primary goal of providing educational assistance to the dependents of the Philippine Air Force military personnel who were either killed-in-action or retired with 100% Complete Disability Discharged Rating.

Aside from the alumni, grantees, and members of the BOT, various personalities were also present to grace the occasion such as the PAFEFI President Lieutenant General Horacio S Tolentino AFP (Ret); Air Force Inspector General, Major General Ruben L Carandang AFP, who represented the PAF Commanding General; PAFEFI Executive Secretary, Colonel Jeffrey M Vilela GSC (PAF); and the President of the Philippine Women’s University, Dr. Jose Francisco Benitez, who served as the guest speaker.
