The Philippine Air Force (PAF) through the 220th Airlift Wing "Airlifters" was given the task to transport the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Air Chiefs who are presently here in the country for the 14th ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference.

Aware of the bigwigs on board, the most experienced C-130 Pilot-in-Command - recipient of the Gold aeronautical badge and Herky Commander - Major Anthony R Amora PAF, was tapped to lead the C-130 aircrew. VIP flights such as this one is not new to the Airlifters' community considering there are other aircraft such as the C-295, F-27 and even the N-22, performing similar missions.

Meanwhile, the other aircraft, C-295, flew the wives of the ASEAN Air Chiefs from Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City to Caticlan, Boracay.

Having the PAF Commanding General, Lieutenant General Edgar R Fallorina AFP, on board is already a privilege to the Airlifters, all the more when all of the CGs of other Air Forces will board altogether in a C-130 aircraft.

This is the second time that the PAF hosted the AACC after it was held in the country sometime in 2007 where the bloc's chairmanship only happens every ten years.

In essence, these airlift sorties support our Air Force in ensuring the successful staging of the 14th ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference and eventually, a more enhanced cooperation and stronger bond of friendship among the ASEAN Air Forces.
