AFP-PNP Deploys All-Female Troops In Marawi City to Aid Gov't Rehab Efforts

The Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police has sent off today, August 29, an all-female contingent composed 60 AFP enlisted personnel and 40 non-commissioned officers of the PNP to help the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in Marawi City.

In a press briefing conducted at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City, earlier this week, AFP Public Affairs Chief Marine Colonel Edgard Arevalo said that the female troops will be “facilitating psychosocial healing and peace-building.”

This government effort will be carried out in collaboration with relevant government agencies and non-government organizations, and different key stakeholders.
