The Philippine Air Force and Pacific Air Forces held a civil-military engagement as part of the Cope Thunder PH 2024-1 at Basa Air Base, Floridablanca, Pampanga, on April 18, 2024.

Pilots from the 5th Fighter Wing, PAF; and the Pacific Air Forces engaged with Air Traffic Controllers from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in a discussion focused on the characteristics of the FA-50PH and F-16 aircraft.

Chief Master Sergeant John I Roxas PAF was honored by the United States Air Force (USAF) through its Air University on April 19, 2024.

CMS Roxas, a graduate of the US Air Force Senior NCO Acaddemy under the Air University in 2010, has exemplified remarkable leadership as the current PAF Sergeant Major. As a Senior NCO, he has played instrumental roles, demonstrating unwavering dedication and commitment to service, which has propelled him to his current designation.

CG, PAF VISITS SPAIN, MEETS COUNTERPART LEADERS

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) continues to strengthen its strategic partnerships as Commanding General, Lieutenant General Stephen P. Parreño PAF, concluded a productive visit to Madrid, Spain from April 14 to 19, 2024.

During his visit, Lt. Gen. Parreño met with key military leaders from the Spanish Air and Space Force (SASF), led by General Javier Salto Martínez-Avial, Chief of Staff, SASF. Both air forces engaged in high-level discussions focused on solidifying cooperation and enhancing interoperability to better address future challenges.

COPE THUNDER PH 24-1 CONCLUDES AFTER OVER 2 WEEKS OF MILITARY TRAINING EXERCISES

The Philippine Air Force and the United States Air Force concluded the Cope Thunder Philippines 24-1 on April 19, 2024, at Basa Air Base in Floridablanca, Pampanga. 

On the concluding day of Cope Thunder, PAF and USAF maintenance personnel exchanged best practices in aircraft maintenance during a Subject Matter Expert Exchange.

Acting CG, PAF Receives New Zealand Prime Minister

The Acting Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, Maj. Gen. Augustine S. Malinit PAF, received the New Zealand Prime Minister, His Excellency Christopher Luxon, yesterday, April 18, 2024, during his arrival at Col Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

H.E. Luxon visited the Philippines to meet President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. for a bilateral meeting.

PAF ENGAGES IN DEDICATED CREW CHIEF EXPERT EXCHANGE IN COPE THUNDER PH 24-1

The Philippine Air Force took part in the Subject Matter Expert Exchange on Dedicated Crew Chief Program during Cope Thunder Philippines 24-1 on April 18, 2024, at Basa Air Base in Floridablanca, Pampanga. 

Led by the USAF's 13th Fighter Generation Squadron, participants included the PAF's 7th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 105th Fighter Training Squadron, and 430th Air Maintenance Group. 

The session centered on the requirements, responsibilities, standards, and recognition program for Dedicated Crew Chiefs.

PAF-USAF EXHANGE BEST PRACTICES IN AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE, SUPPLY AND LOGISTICS

On April 16, 2024, the Subject Matter Expert Exchange held between the Philippines and United States Air Forces during Cope Thunder PH 24-1 at Basa Air Base in Floridablanca, Pampanga, highlighted key insights on Aircraft Maintenance, Supply, and Logistics management. 

The PAF and USAF airmen exchanged best practices on maintaining open communication with suppliers, enhancing the Logistics Information System (LIS) for better spare parts sustainability and storage, and emphasizing the importance of an engine test cell in maintenance facilities. 

PH-US PILOTS HONE AERIAL COMBAT SKILLS IN JOINT EXERCISE

Pilots from the Philippine Air Force and the United States Air Force are actively honing their Air Combat Maneuvers (ACM) skills in FA-50 and F-16 aircraft over an Intensive Military Training Area located west of Zambales as part of Cope Thunder 24-1 on April 17, 2024.

Complex simulated air combat scenarios were conducted to further sharpen the skills of pilots in effectively engaging and surviving in air combat situations. These efforts are crucial in preparing for upcoming Large Force Employment (LFE) missions during BALIKATAN Exercises 2024.

PAF-USAF Security Forces Enhance Law Enforcement and Combat Skills

Security forces specialists from the Philippine Air Force's 540th Air Base Group engaged in extensive training on law enforcement and combat skills alongside their United States Air Force counterparts on April 15, 2024, at Basa Air Base in Pampanga. This training, part of Cope Thunder PH 24-1, honed personnel from both air forces on law enforcement techniques and combat tactics, particularly focusing on proper stance, baton maneuvers, and effective methods for disengaging from threats.
