General Darren W McDew, the Commander of the United States Transportation Command (TRANSCOM), and party visited the Philippine Air Force on September 15, 2016 to explore the areas of cooperation between the PAF and the TRANSCOM of the US Armed Forces (USAF).

Following his arrival, the HPAF accorded General McDew with arrival honors at the HPAF Quadrangle where he was received by the PAF Vice Commander, Major General Conrado V Parra Jr AFP, as military host. After the honors, he and his party were escorted by MGen Parra to the Staff Lounge for the courtesy call and round table discussion that was attended by the Chief of Air Staff, MGen Rozzano D Briguez AFP, some A-staff members (A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5, A-7), and the Chief Sergeant Major. Topics that were discussed are as follows: West Philippine Sea updates, PAF modernization, and plans to further strengthen the cooperation of the PAF and the USAF.As part of their official visit in the Philippines, which began on September 14,General McDew and party proceeded to Clark Air Base, Pampanga to meet the senior leaders there.

As the single manager of USA’s global defense transportation system, the USTRANSCOM is one of the nine US unified commands responsible for the coordination of people and transportation assets to allow the US to project and sustain forces, whenever, wherever, and for as long as they are needed.
