PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE'S STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT AT THE AIR AND SPACE POWER CONFERENCE 2024

Lt.Gen Stephen P. Parreño PAF, the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, led a PAF delegation to the Air and Space Power Conference 2024 (ASPC24) held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra, Australia, from May 6 to 9, 2024. Accompanying him were Ltc Aristides M. Galang Jr. PAF (GSC), Chief of Air Force International Military Affairs, and CMS John I. Roxas, Air Force Sergeant Major.

This prestigious conference, themed "Building Readiness and Resilience in National Air and Space Power," was hosted by Air Marshal Robert Chipman, Chief of Air Force, and LtGen John Frewen, Chief of Space and Cyber Force. It served as a platform for global community members to foster connections and exchange cutting-edge concepts in air and space power.

In addition to participating in the conference sessions, Lt.Gen Parreño engaged in bilateral meetings with key military leaders including Lt.Gen Ogasawara Takuto, Vice Chief of Staff of the Koku-Jietai (Japan Air Self-Defense Force), BGen (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif, Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, and Lt.Gen Julio Nieto Sampayo, among others. Notably, he also met with Ms. Kelli Seybolt, Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs, USAF.

During his visit, Lt.Gen Parreño seized the opportunity to tour significant facilities such as the Australian Defense Force Academy and the Australian War Memorial, where he attended the solemn Last Post Ceremony. Additionally, he paid a courtesy call to Ambassador Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, the Philippine Ambassador to Australia.

The successful visit to Australia highlights the PAF's commitment to strengthening relationships with international partners, reaffirming dedication to global cooperation, and shared advancement in defense capabilities.
