A total of ten (10) New People’s Army took part during the Oath of Allegiance and turn-over of firearms in a ceremony held at the satellite office of the Presidential Adviser for Southern Tagalog, A. Mabini Ave., Tanauan City in Batangas on August 14, 2018.

The activity was presided and witnessed by the Secretaries from the DND, DILG, Presidential Adviser for Southern Tagalog, Batangas Government Officials and other top military commanders.

Aside from the turn-over of the firearms, highlighted also during the activity was the launching and implementation of the national government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) in Southern Luzon.

The E-CLIP is a holistic inter-agency approach of the government to end insurgency peacefully by encouraging rebels to join mainstream society through various grants and compensations which they can use to start-over and become responsible members of the society.

Moreover, prior to the Oath-taking and turn-over of firearms, ten (10) members of the Communist New People’s Army (NPA) terrorist group surrendered to the 730th Combat Group commanded by Major Engelberto A Nioda Jr of the PAF in Nasugbu, Batangas.
