PAF SOUTH PILLARS ON ITS 61ST FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY

The 530th Air Base Wing, the “Southern Pillars” of the Philippine Air Force, celebrated its 61st Founding Anniversary on October 17, 2016 at Edwin Andrews Air Base (EAAB) in Zamboanga City with the theme, 530th ABW Southern Pillars @61: "Committed to Render Excellent Service to a Jointly Engaged Transforming Force for Greater Peace and Security". The Commander of 3rd Air Division, MGEN DOMINGO B PALISOC JR AFP, was the Guest of Honor.

Highlighted during the anniversary was the presentation of awards to the outstanding units and personnel of 530th ABW. The Wing Commander 530th ABW, BGEN ROLANDO S ACOP AFP together with the Deputy Wing Commander, COL SIMEON Z FELIX JR PAF (GSC) assisted the Commander, 3rd Air Division, MGEN DOMINGO B PALISOC JR AFP in presenting the streamers and plaques to the following awardees:

Officer of the Year-2LT JARED M PATAWARAN PAF

NCO of the Year- Tsg Luciano A Cantar PAF

Airman of the year- Sgt Sunday C Ruelo PAF

Civilian Employee of the Year- Mr Henry S Anit CE

Group of the Year-532nd Logistics Group

Squadron of the Year-5321st Civil Engineering Squadron

Special Awards were also given to Zamboanga City Rays of Sunshine, KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Community Environment and Natural Resources Office, Institute Development Building Division of Industry and ABS-CBN Zamboanga for their continuous support to the Wing.

The Commander, 3AD MGen Palisoc congratulated and encouraged everyone to further enhance urgency, dedication and excellence towards work to become a credible force in this part of our country.

The celebration focused on its thrust on human resource, facility development, base services, civic and social works, health and dental services.
