​PAF PERSONNEL ASSIST IN FERRYING EVACUEES BACK TO HOMETOWNS

Personnel from the 355th Aviation Engineer Wing, 5th Fighter Wing, 600th Air Base Group and PAF Civil Military Operations Group rendered assistance to the Municipality of Cuenca, Batangas in ferrying evacuees back to their respective hometowns. 

The activity emanated from the instruction of the Commanding General, Philippine Air Force, MAJOR GENERAL ALLEN T PAREDES AFP to Wing Commander, 355th Aviation Engineer Wing, BRIGADIER GENERAL RALPH L MAMAUAG AFP, to deploy a team to Batangas anew to assist in clearing operations in the province in relation to the downgrading of alert level for Taal Volcano from level 4 to 3.

WC, 355th AEW rendered a courtesy call to Mayor Faye Endaya-Barretto of Cuenca. Afterwards, Mayor Barretto requested assistance to ferry evacuees from Cuenca National High School to Sitio Tagbakin, Brgy Halang, Lipa City where they boarded motorized boats to their respective hometowns.  

The combined PAF Units acted immediately on the request of Mayor Barretto. In a single sortie they were able to transport over 50 evacuees along with their belongings to Sitio Tagbakin.  

The Local Government of Cuenca is thankful to the PAF for its assistance in ferrying the evacuees. Likewise, the evacuees thanked the PAF personnel for bringing them closer to their homes.
