The send-off ceremony is the PAF’s way of showing its support for its athletes who will be competing in the 2016 AFP-PNP-PCG Olympics. It is worthy to note that this year’s Olympics is considerably remarkable because of the Philippine Coast Guard's (PCG) participation, which was from the beginning, regularly attended by the AFP-PNP contingent only.

Lt Col Rosemawattee A Remo PAF (GSC), Executive Officer of the Office of the AC of AS for Personnel, A-1 rendered the welcome remarks and hoped for the continuous victory of all the PAF athletes. She took pride in the fact that the PAF have world-class athletes who made AW1C Hidilyn F Diaz PAF, the first Pinay Olympic-Silver medalist, their inspiration for excelling in their respective sports discipline.

To boost their morale, MGen Parra urged the athletes to give their very best and bring back the champion's prestige to the PAF. “Ibalik natin yung panahon na lagi tayong namamayagpag sa AFP-PNP Olympics. Show them what the PAF has to offer in the toughest of competitions, fought only by the toughest of competitors,” he said. After the ceremony, the PAF athletes showed a boodle fight lunch with the VC, PAF and HPAF staff. Then they proceeded to Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City for the opening ceremony of the Olympics, which will culminate on October 30.

The AFP-PNP-PCG Olympics aims to strengthen camaraderie and esprit-de-corps between and among the participants, as well as, encourages all the athletes to seriously engage in sports by promoting and enhancing physical fitness, discipline and teamwork.
