The Philippine Air Force’s 505th Search and Rescue Group together with the Tactical Operations Group 6 conducted continuous search and retrieval operations over Iloilo-Guimaras Strait after a squall capsized three (3) pump boats, M/B Chi-chi and M/B Kezziah from Iloilo to Guimaras, and M/B Jenny Vince from Guimaras to Iloilo, past noon on Saturday, August 03, 2019.

A Super Huey II #890 of the 505th Search and Rescue Group, piloted by MAJ RICHARD O DALAG PAF and CPT NEIL JASPER P LAYUG PAF with pararescue personnel, was utilized by the PAF in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard. 

As the search for the missing passengers intensifies, on August 05, 2019, the SAR team onboard the Super Huey spotted one victim in the waters of Guimaras strait which was consequently retrieved by the PCG VI personnel. The victim was identified as Romeo Baguio Sr., a passenger of M/B Jenny Vince and was brought to West Visayas Medical Center, Iloilo City. 

Moreover, Tactical Operations Group 6, spearheaded by its Group Commander, LTC DENNIS Q ALCARDE PAF (MNSA), provided KM450 and M35 trucks to ferry the stranded passengers from Parola Wharf to Lapuz Port in Iloilo City and assisted in the distribution of relief goods to the stranded crews of motorized ferry boats of Iloilo-Guimaras route. 

The 250th Presidential Airlift Wing also ferried President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and other key government officials who paid a visit to the bereaved family of the victims and to the survivors. Meanwhile, the 220th Airlift Wing transported via PAF C130 aircraft two (2) casualties from Iloilo to Manila, and seven (7) casualties to Mactan, Cebu, respectively.
