The Philippine Air Force honored the outgoing Air Force Inspector General, MGEN DINO C DIÑO AFP in a Testimonial Review and Retirement Ceremony held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at PAF Grandstand in Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City with the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, LTGEN GALILEO GERARD R KINTANAR JR AFP as the presiding Officer and Guest of Honor.

The ceremony served as an expression to gratitude to MGEN DIÑO, as well as, to pay tribute for his more than 34 years of leadership, expertise, and dedication contributed to the PAF.

MGEN DIÑO is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Maharlika” class of 1984. Prior to his retirement, he previously held positions as the Wing Commander, 560th Air Base Wing; Deputy Commander, 2nd Air Division; Deputy Inspector General, AFP. Likewise, as an additional duty, he also served as the Chairman AFP Technical Inspection and Acceptance Committee for the acquisition of 21 refurbished UH-1 Helicopters.

MGEN DIÑO was also a recipient of various awards and decorations, remarkable of which are the PAF Gold Wings, Outstanding Achievement Medal, Gold Cross Medal, Distinguished Service Star, Distinguished Service Medal, Long Service Medal, Bronze Cross Medal, Military Merit Medal, Silver Wing Medal, Presidential Citation Badge and numerous letters of commendations, plaques of appreciation and merits.

During the ceremony, MGEN DIÑO was given a Philippine Flag, Command Plaque, Plaque of Honorable Service, Command Memento and Replica Cheque while Mrs Merle R Diño was also given a plaque of appreciation in grateful recognition for her wholehearted, faithful and unselfish support to her husband’s successful and devoted service to the nation.

MGEN DIÑO bowed out of service reaching his compulsory age of 56. He relinquished his post to the Wing Commander of 520th Air Base Wing, BGEN SAMUEL G GOTICO AFP.
