PAF CONDUCTS FLY-BY TO COMMEMORATE 124TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

Over thirty (30) air assets of the Philippine Air Force participated in the 124th Independence day celebration on June 12, 2022 at the Luneta Park in Manila to honor and commemorate the independence of the Philippines.

Three (3) units of FA-50 Fighter Jets conducted high-speed opener pass to kick off the flag-raising ceremony which was led by President Rodrigo Duterte; while ten (10) SF-260 and nine (9) T-41 Trainer Aircrafts, two (2) AW-109 and two (2) T-129 ‘ATAK’ Helicopters, and two (2) S-70i Blackhawk Combat Utility Helicopters conducted a fly-by exercise.

This year’s independence day celebration carries the theme Kalayaan 2022: “Rise Towards the Challenge of a New Beginning” which aims to emphasize the gradual recovery of the Nation from Covid-19 pandemic and to highlight the country’s preparation of welcoming a new leadership.

The participation of PAF in the country’s National Day is to show respect to the Filipino freedom fighters who gave their lives for the independence of their countrymen.
