The Philippine Air Force conducted a Ceremonial Activation of the Office of the Air Force Gender and Development (OAFGAD) at the Hall of Flags, CJVAB in Pasay City on June 17, 2019 with the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force LTGEN ROZZANO D BRIGUEZ AFP as the Presiding Officer.
The OAFGAD was approved by the CG, PAF as his Special Staff with the function of assisting and advising the CG, PAF on all matters pertaining to Gender and Development.
Meanwhile, Chapter VI, Section 36 of the Republic Act Nr 9710 or the Magna Carta of women states that all departments, including their attached agencies, bureaus, state universities and colleges, government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units, and other government instrumentalities shall adopt gender mainstreaming as a strategy to promote women’s human rights and eliminate gender discrimination in their system, structures, policies, programs, processes, and procedures.
On the other hand, LTC CECILIA B FRIAS PAF (GSC) assumed the position as the Chief, OAFGAD.
