PAF COMMEMORATES 75TH YEAR OF THE RETAKING OF NICHOLS AIRFIELD IN WORLD WAR II

The Philippine Air Force, led by the Chief of Air Staff, MGEN GLICERIO G PERALTA AFP, together with Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, commemorated the 75th Anniversary of the Retaking of Nichols Airfield during the World War II on February 19. 2020, at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of the Pasay Local Historical Marker at Zone 20, Brgy 183 Villamor, Pasay City.

The event was held in connection with the Presidential Proclamation Number 653 which directs the LGU’s concerned to commemorate annually the Anniversaries of significant events related to the liberation of the Philippines during WWII.

The event, also attended by WWII veterans, aims to purposely renew the consciousness of the general public with regards to the eternal values of democracy, freedom, peace, and love of the country to PAF personnel stationed at CJVAB, Pasay Local Government Units and other stakeholders.
