The Philippine Air Force's C-130 Hercules and newly acquired C295M medium-lift aircraft now flies around the clock to bring soldiers and their families together for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
These missions are carried out by dedicated C-130 and C295M pilots and crew of the 220th Airlift Wing who set aside their own time with their families and stayed alert during long hauls to ensure safety of their flights.
The same hard work is committed by the support personnel from base operations squadrons, Air Base Wing security personnel and 710th SPOW K-9 handlers and sniffing dogs and operations center personnel who monitors each flight.
The rest and recreation (R and R) flights are anticipated at this time of the year purposely to uplift the morale of the AFP soldiers who had been deployed in remote areas for a long time away from their families and loved ones.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
