PAF AIR ASSETS AND GROUND PERSONNEL ASSIST IN MARIJUANA ERADICATION

The Philippine Air Force, through the Tactical Operations Group 2 of the Tactical Operations Wing Northern Luzon, aided in the recent high-impact joint marijuana eradication operation in Mt. Chumanchil, Tinglayan, Kalinga. 

The PAF provided essential air support throughout the 10-day series of operations. Blackhawk and Huey II helicopters, operated by the 505th Search and Rescue Group, were utilized for aerial reconnaissance, as well as troop and supply insertion. Additionally, an eight-man team comprised of TOG 2 and 710th Special Operations Wing personnel provided ground security and support.

This operation, spearheaded by the Special Operations Unit Cordillera, Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group, in collaboration with the JTF TALA, PRO CAR, PDEA CAR, 11SAB PNP SAF, RMFB15 MC, PCG District Northeastern Luzon, 503rd Brigade PA, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)14, Kalinga PDEU, Kalinga PPO, RDEU PROCOR, PMFC Mt. Province, NICA, and Tinglayan MPS, successfully resulted in the destruction of massive amount of dried marijuana plants and fully grown marijuana plants.

The Philippine Air Force remains steadfast in its commitment to collaborating with law enforcement agencies in their fight against illegal drugs.
