A female pilot of a F-27 Fokker aircraft of the 220th Airlift Wing, CPT MARTHA LISSA D SAPALO PAF, topped the 50-strong Squadron Officer Course (SOC) Class 2015-B composed of 47 Philippine Air Force, 2 Royal Malaysian Air Force and 1 Indonesian Air Force Captains during the Graduation Exercise today, December 10, 2015 at Multi-Purpose Hall, Air Force Officer School (AFOS), Fernando Air Base, Lipa City, Batangas with the Commanding General, Philippine Air Force, LTGEN JEFFREY F DELGADO AFP as the Guest of Honor.
SOC is a 4-month course which is a pre-requisite for them to be promoted to the next higher rank of MAJOR. The objectives of the course are to train and provide the students with applicable skills, knowledge and characters on the following field: Communication studies; Military strategy and Air power studies; Leadership and Management; Profession of arms; Field Leadership and Physical Development; and Administration.
The SOC Class 2015-B started last August 10, 2015 and completed the course on December 10, 2015 and were under the supervision of the Commandant of AFOS, COL SAMSON L PEREZ PAF GSC.
Based on the overall standing, the top three graduates were:
1. CPT MARTHA LISSA D SAPALO PAF- CG,PAF Award
2. CPT MELVIN B COMIA PAF- Commander, AETC Award
3. CPT MICHAEL J MACASAET PAF - Deputy Commander, AETC Award
