COMMEMORATION OF THE 74TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RETAKING OF NICHOLS AIRFIELD DURING THE WWII

The Philippine Air Force in coordination with the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office officially celebrated the historical Retaking of Nichols Airfield and Fort William Mckinley during the World War II dated (February 15-16 1945), held at the PAF Aerospace Museum, Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City

Led by the guest of honor, Commanding General, PAF Lieutenant General Rozzano D Briguez AFP, the event was conducted to purposely renew the consciousness of the general public with regards to the eternal values of democracy, freedom, peace and love of the country to PAF personnel stationed at CJVAB, Pasay Local Government Units and other stakeholders.

The event was also in connection with Presidential Proclamation Number 653 which directs the LGU’s concerned to commemorate annually the Anniversaries of significant events related to the liberation of the Philippines during the WWII.

Moreover, notable attendees during the event were Pasay City Mayor Antonio G Calixto, together with the WWII Veterans led by Sergeant Jose Quilatan Sr whos already (104 years old).
