Already set to retire in October 2017, the Philippine Air Force's 34th Commanding General, Lieutenant General Edgar R Fallorina AFP, carried out his "Champagne Flight" on October 6, 2017 at the Air Education Training and Doctine Command, Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas where he utilized the SF-260 Marchetti aircraft.
Once a military pilot decides to retire from the service, the traditional Champagne Flight serves as his/her last flight. Moreover, during the said activity, the SF-260 is being used to remind every pilot that he/she started out his/her career flying the trainer aircraft.
Meanwhile, the CG, PAF also had the opportunity to talk to the men and women of FAB as part of his farewell visit. During his talk, he expressed his gratitude to the personnel for the unwavering support they have extended to him.
