Selected officers from 220th Airlift Wing of the Philippine Air Force led by its Wing Commander, BGEN STEPHEN P PARREÑO AFP gathered for the last time as they finally wrap up this year's 3-year Capability Development Planning Workshop from May 16 to 17, 2018. The activity was attended by some officers from HPAF, Air Power Institute and AMC units that acted as panelists during the Project Management Team presentations and seminar discussions.
The first day of the workshop was committed to the initial presentation and subsequent integration of the comments from the panelists. Presenters were divided following the DOTMPLF Format and were allocated each with the same time limit. The open forum right after the presentation was the challenging part, as questions from the panelists were raised.
However, the second day of the workshop saw a more improved presentation from the respective PMTs and Sub-PMTs. Those who emerged at the top of their respective categories in terms of presentation and output were recognized. The panelists were also given certificates of appreciation and token as a gesture of the Wing's reciprocity for their attendance and valuable support.
The workshop in a nutshell was prompted by the Wing Commander's call to come up with a comprehensive plan to guide new and future commanders on how to effectively sustain the Wing's intensified operational demands and further re-aligning it with the current leadership priorities and the ongoing transformation journey. The active engagement of the participants since its opening last March 22, 2018 has in fact resulted to the cross-pollination of diverse perspectives and opinions from both the panelists and speakers. Valuable lessons were similarly passed on most particularly in capitalizing the immense potentials of the plan. The plan was also linked to the budget to make it realistic and functional.
More so, two books (Book 1 and 2) will be published covering all the outputs of the workshop and will be presented to the Commander, AMC during the Wing's Anniversary on June 1, 2018.
