The Philippine Air Force 220th Airlift Wing provided Air Operations to different scenarios in Bohol as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) engage against the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) last April 11, 2017

During an engagement at Barangay Napo, Inabanga, Bohol, various aircraft from the Philippine Air Force immediately provided assistance to troops in battle which includes the (C-130, C-295 and F-27 aircraft). It was also used to ferried JSOG and PNP personnel and supplies to the area.

Also, later that day, another C-130 aircraft ferried the ground support equipment of the FA-50PH aircraft to Mactan later that day, to support the air strike mission. All other airlift assets were placed on alert and operationally ready.

In retrospect, the swift and quick airlift of additional troops and equipment to the area through the use of airlift platforms has sustained the forces and supported the effective efforts of the Military.

Indeed, the 220th Airlift Wing has enabled our Air Force to quickly spread its operations. Consequently, contributing to the neutralization of the lawless elements and subsequently led to the surrender of the remaining ASG members.
