AIRLIFTERS SORTIES ON HOLY WEEK

Today is no special holiday for the Philippine Air Force 220th Airlifters, as the whole country commemorate the Lenten Season, A number of flight missions were set to cater the airlift requirements of operational units to provide immediate assistance to people in need.

AIR ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY THE AIRLIFTERS

The Philippine Air Force 220th Airlift Wing provided Air Operations to different scenarios in Bohol as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) engage against the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) last April 11, 2017

During an engagement at Barangay Napo, Inabanga, Bohol, various aircraft from the Philippine Air Force immediately provided assistance to troops in battle which includes the (C-130, C-295 and F-27 aircraft). It was also used to ferried JSOG and PNP personnel and supplies to the area.

AIR FORCE RESTS FROM WORK, DEEPENS SPIRITUAL WELL-BEING

Hundreds of Philippine Air Force personnel composed of officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees based flocked to the PAF Gymnasium on April 11, 2017 for the conduct of a half-day PAF-wide simultaneous Lenten Recollection with this year's theme, " Airman's Spirituality: Jet Force Call to Selfless Service."

BLESSING OF THE FOURTH BATCH OF FA-50PH JETS

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) held a formal Acceptance, Turn-over and Blessing Ceremony of the two newly-acquired FA-50PH “Fighting Eagle” Fighter/Surface Attack/Lead-in Fighters Trainer Aircraft (F/SA/LIFTA) with tail numbers 007 and 008 on April 6, 2017 at the Haribon Hangar, Air Force City, Clark Air Base in Pampanga. The event was graced by the Chief of Air Staff of the PAF, Major General Rozzano D Briguez AFP.

It is noteworthy to mention that with the current trend, the 220th Airlift Wing "Airlifters" remains to be the Philippine Air Force's most reliable and relevant workhorse. Airlifters have managed to provide capability such as providing support to internal security operation, conduct of sovereignty patrols, VIP movements, national development efforts and crisis response.
