Doing away with the customary ceremonial flyby of air assets and fighting capability display of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Major Services, this year's 81st Founding Anniversary celebration of the AFP held today, December 21, 2016, at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo (CGEA), Quezon City was made simple as it opted to highlight its ground assets on humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR).
The Philippine Air Force 505th Search and Rescue Group (SRG) together with 5051st Search and Rescue Squadron (SRS) spearheaded a Medical and Dental Mission on December 04, 2016 dubbed as 'Maagang Pamasko 16" at the CDC Parade Ground, Clark Field, Pampanga. The event was conducted as part of the 60th Pre-Anniversary celebration of the 505th SRG which will be held on December 12, 2016. Over 300 native Aetas from Sitio Segova, Macapagal and Marcos, Mabalacat, Pampanga were provided with medical assistance and dental care.

Two (2) of the remaining ten (10) units of the FA-50PH “Fighting Eagle” Fighter/Surface Attack/Lead-in Fighters Trainer Aircraft (F/SA/LIFTA) with tail numbers 003 and 004 that the Philippine Air Force (PAF) acquired from South Korea have finally landed on Philippine soil on December 1, 2016 at the Haribon Hangar, Air Force City, Clark Air Base in Pampanga.
The FA-50PH with tail number 003 landed at exactly 11:41 a.m. while the FA-50PH with tail number 004 touched down at about 11:42 a.m.
