In support to the government’s Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, the Philippine Air Force has utilized all of its available air assets to increase the capability of transporting needed medical supplies and equipment as well as food supplies across the country.  

As a testament to this commitment, the Fokker-28 of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing which is primarily utilized for Presidential and VVIP flights has now been utilized to transport requirements to combat COVID-19. On April 17, 2020, a total of 44 boxes of assorted Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and medical supplies were airlifted from the PAF Headquarters in Villamor Air Base to Bacolod City for the frontliners of different hospitals in the Province of Negros Occidental. 

The addition of the Fokker F-28 in the transport aircraft against COVID-19 is crucial because of its capability to carry higher payloads at jet speed. More importantly, it highlights our President’s selflessness and earnest desire to end the pandemic.   
As of this date, PAF has transported a total of 186,942.94kgs of cargoes composed of more than 2 million KN95 and surgical masks; 101, 312 protective suits; 1, 200 protective cover boots; 149, 660 protective gowns; 288, 189 protective goggles; 754, 500 protective gloves; 275, 000 headcovers; 963, 370 shoe covers; 4, 000 surgical caps; 3, 492 infrared thermometers; 50 sputum suction apparatus; and 7 breathing machines. 

Rest assured, your Air Force stands ready to deploy other air assets such as the C-130, C-295, NC-212i, and the Nomad N-22B/C of the 220th Airlift Wing; UH-1H/D helicopters of the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing; SF-260 trainer aircraft of Air Education, Training, and Doctrine Command; S-76 Sikorsky helicopter of the 505th Search and Rescue Group in order to promptly and effectively respond to any airlift mission required by the government.
