PAF STRENGTHENS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

The Philippine Air Force through Air Force Research and Development Center (AFRDC) under the leadership of COL ARF MUSICO PAF (GSC) conducted the first Research and Development (R&D) Consultative Meeting last December 16, 2015 at the PAF Aerospace Museum, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City with the Commanding General PAF, LTGEN JEFFREY F DELGADO AFP as the Keynote Speaker.

The PAF R&D consultative meeting is a one-day activity that aims to build on past Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRDP) in order to develop the country’s capability and self-sufficiency in the production of defense materials to sustain the requirements of the AFP in partnership with the private sector and generate momentum to revitalized R&D initiatives in support of the PAF Flight Plan 2028.

Consultative meeting 2015 feature a presentation of topics for participative discussion by the following presenters:

COL ERIC SALVADOR M DE LEON (ret)-The realization of a strategic plan of revitalization for the SRDP program.

COL FABIAN M PEDREGOSA-The technological challenges faced by the PAF modernization.

COL ARF MUSICO-The importance of the AFRDC in the realization of Flight Plan.

The meeting was participated in by stakeholders from the military government agencies, academe and industry to gather inputs that could be used to embark on the realization and transformation efforts to make it capable of supporting the PAF Flight Plan 2028’s core process of acquiring and upgrading air defense equipment complemented by research and development for Territorial Defense.
