The Philippine Air Force through the 950th Communications-Electronics and Information Systems Group in partnership with PLDT One Cybersecurity marks a new milestone in cybersecurity training. The PAF-PLDT One Cybersecurity Training officially started during its opening ceremony this 12 October 2020 via VTC.

Cybersecurity Training is a 4-month in-depth cyber education and OJT intended for the cyber warriors of the PAF. With this, the students will be able to learn the fundamentals and cutting-edge technology in cybersecurity like the best ways of defending computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attacks are included.

The activity was spearheaded by COL OLIVER A BAÑARIA PAF (GSC), Group Commander, 950th CEISG, Units training staffs, fifty-five students of Cybersecurity, and other PAF Officers. On the PLDT’s team, it was attended by Mr Angel T Redoble, FVP & Group Chief Information Security Officer, ePLDT Group, PLDT Group & Smart Comms., Ms Marilene P Tayag, VP and Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, PLDT-Smart Communications, and Ms Mary Angeli P Ablir, Deputy CISO ePLDT, Inc. All off them gave a message for the students and the PAF as a whole.

During the speech of COL BAÑARIA, he mentioned that the PAF is thankful to PLDT for the big opportunity to help the PAF strengthen its security capabilities to produce and develop skilled and competent cyber professionals in preparation for cyber threats in the organization. 

The said training marks the first activity since the ceremonial signing of partnership between PAF headed by the Commanding General, PAF LT GEN ALLEN T PAREDES PAF and PLDT headed by its President and CEO Mr Manny V Pangilinan which was held last August 2020.
