PAF PILOTS AND CREW WORK TIRELESSLY TO COMBAT COVID-19

The Philippine Air Force once again successfully performed significant accomplishments in support to the continuous efforts of the Philippine Government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.  

On 22 April 2020, the NC212i of the PAF safely airlifted assorted medical supplies and PPEs at Iloilo International Airport, Cabatuan, Iloilo. 

Moreover, two PAF C130 aircraft were being utilized to transport medical supplies and PPEs from Xiamen, China to the Philippines.  Additionally, the C130 performs two flights a day to expedite the transport of essential equipment such as Personal Protective Suits and isolation gowns to sustain the demand of the medical supplies and equipment needed by our frontliners. 

Meanwhile, other PAF air assets such as the C295, two (2) UH-1 helicopters, and two (2) SF-260 aircraft were also being utilized in transporting needed medical supplies, swab samples of COVID specimen, and food supplies across the country. Likewise, PAF also conducted airdrop of info materials for COVID-19 awareness. More so, despite the busy workload in fighting this pandemic, the PAF was still able to honor and render the last service to its departed comrade and ferried their remains to their respective hometowns.

As the workhorse, PAF worked tirelessly to perform its mission and are always ready and willing to transport, back and forth all the requirements needed to prevent the shortage of medical supplies and PPEs in the hospitals, since the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is increasing especially on the numbers of affected health workers all over the country.
