PAF HOLDS PROFICIENCY MARKSMANSHIP 2018

A number of General Officers, Retired Officers, and Senior Officers from different Philippine Air Force (PAF) bases competed in this year's PAF Marksmanship Proficiency conducted on Saturday morning, October 20, 2018, at the PAF Firing Range in Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

The activity kicked-off with the ceremonial shoot carried out by the PAF Commanding General, Lieutenant General Galileo Gerard R Kintanar Jr AFP.

Immediately after, the marksmanship commenced with eight competing teams with five members each. The teams vied for five categories: Stages 1, 2, 3, Team versus Team, and Team Aggregate.

After a series of firing activities, Team 6 was adjudged as the over-all champion composed of MGen Antonio Ramon Lim AFP, MGen Romeo Dela Cruz AFP (Ret), Colonel Dennis Estrella, Colonel Connor Anthony Canlas PAF (GSC), and Colonel Gerold Gagan GSC (PAF). Other winners of the event are the following:

The activity highlighted the remarks of the Commanding General who recently presided the days-long 4th Quarter Command Conference at Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas with all Commanders and key Officers of the PAF.

In his remarks, Lieutenant General Kintanar praised the winning and the not-so lucky teams that participated. According to him, shooting is one of the competencies that airmen should develop. Having said this, the CG,PAF reminded the Commanders to hone more their skills in order for the PAF to select the best individuals who will compete in the upcoming shootfest to be held in Davao.

In addition, he commended all the personnel who were behind the success of the marksmanship proficiency, especially the organizers, the Office of the Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Intelligence, OA-2, and the Air Force Special Services Group.

Apart from demonstrating their expertise in marksmanship, the event promoted sportsmanship and strengthened the bond among Commanders, Chiefs of Office, and Unit heads of the PAF.
