With the pronouncement of Enhanced Community Quarantine, the Philippine Air Force joined the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases COVID-19 in preventing the spread of the feared virus affecting the whole country.

In support to the National Task Force and to the PNP for the implementation of the law and order, while the quarantine period is on-going, the 5th Fighter Wing personnel of the Philippine Air Force, led by BGEN FABIAN M PEDREGOZA AFP, in coordination with the Municipal Police positioned a checkpoint at the entrance and exit way of Floridablanca, Pampanga on March 18, 2020. Moreover, the PAF in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare Development helped distribute the relief goods to the remote areas of the said Municipality.

On the other hand, on March 19, 2020, Tactical Operations Group 4 under Tactical Operations Wing Southern Luzon spearheaded by COL LLEWILLYN S BANAAG PAF (GSC) conducted a checkpoint and deployed one (1) team per Barangay at Gulang-Gulang and Isabang in Lucena City.

These undertakings strengthened the security measures during the implementation of the lockdown as well as to secure the well-being of the community while the quarantine period is at the onset.

Through the spirit of Bayanihan and selflessness, the PAF will continue to lead and support the government during this challenging time.
