The Philippine Air Force once again showed its readiness to perform its mandated mission when the government tapped its C-130 aircraft to transport medical supplies from Fuzhou, China to Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

A Filipino-Chinese company donated the PPEs to the Philippine government which consist of COVID test kit PCR real time quantitative thermal cycler, protective suit (sterile and non-sterile), camsterile gloves, face mask, protective goggles, face shield, diagnostic kit, cell preservation fluid, tube strip, swap and S1014  kit. The same company donated medical supplies which were transported by the PAF last March 21 from Fuzhou, China.

Meanwhile, PAF medical teams and the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosives personnel from 710th  Special Operations Wing were present during the arrival of PAF C-130, ensuring that all personnel present during the said activity and cargos underwent preventive and decontamination process. This is to ensure the safety of the personnel against the COVID-19.

On the other hand, the pilots and crew of C-130 aircraft from 220th Airlift Wing, who transported the PPEs from China will undergo 14-day quarantine upon arrival at CJVAB following the quarantine procedures.

The immediate transport of  PPEs through the skill and sacrifices of airmen  will undoubtedly help frontliners as they battle the virus and help our countrymen.
