MGEN MANCITA RENDERS LAST SALUTE AS MILITARY OFFICER

Yesterday, the Bicolano Commander of Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command, MGEN ARNOLD ALARCON MANCITA AFP, has formally cased his standard as he retires from the military after 37 years, eleven months and 19 days of selfless service to the country as one of its respectable Officers and aviators.

Full Military Honors were given to MGEN MANCITA which was witnessed by his family and loved ones. His Mistahs from PMA “Sandiwa” Class of 1985 to include GEN BENJAMIN MADRIGAL JR, AFP Chief of Staff, also came in full force to show support for the retiring gentleman. The pool of Instructor Pilots of AETDC also showed their appreciation to the Honoree through a Fly-By performance utilizing the fleets of T-41 and SF-260 Trainer Aircraft which was exhibited during the opening and closing segments of the ceremony.

MGEN MANCITA is the third Commander of AETDC following its reorganization in 2016. He succeeded two other members of PMA Class ’85, LTGEN KINTANAR JR, former PAF Commanding General and MGEN TANJUAN JR, former PAF Vice Commander who has retired last month. During his stint as AETDC Commander, he advocates “P.A.R.A.S” (Punctuality, Appearance, Right Attitude and Self-Discipline) which was successfully instilled in every Mentor.

Four days after graduating from High School at Saint Catherine Laboure School in Pili, Camarines Sur as Class Valedictorian, MGEN MANCITA joined the Philippine Military Academy in the summer of 1981. He later trained in the PAF Flying School and finished his Undergraduate Pilot Training in 1987.

MGEN MANCITA spent his early military years flying with the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing as pilot of the UH-1H Combat Utility Helicopter extending humanitarian assistance to the victims of disasters and calamities that hit some parts of the archipelago. He further sharpened his airmanship at the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing having to fly four Presidents of the Philippines from 1994 to 2016 using the Bell 412 Chopper. Apart from his notable expertise in the service, MGEN MANCITA also earned his Post Graduate Diploma in Arts in Defense Strategic Studies in Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand in 2005.

Prior to his position as AETDC Commander for more than a year, MGEN MANCITA was the Commander of Air Logistics Command from 2016 to 2017 and Wing Commander of 250th PAW from 2013 to 2016.

As a man who is undeniably devoted to God, MGEN MANCITA and his high school sweetheart, the former Ms Eva Ng, got married in December 16, 1989 and were blessed with three lovely daughters, Hazel Joyce, Pauline Sarah and Khristine Evan.
