The men and women of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) welcomed Lieutenant General Rozzano D Briguez AFP as its new Commanding General replacing Lieutenant General Galileo Gerard R Kintanar Jr AFP during the Change of Command Ceremony last December 21, 2018, at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City, with the Commander-in-Chief, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, as presiding officer.

Lieutenant General Kintanar, a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sandiwa” Class of 1985, passed on the command and leadership of the PAF to Lieutenant General Briguez.

In his speech, President Duterte lauded the PAF for achieving the highest rating of ‘Excellent’ in the whole Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during the Annual General Inspection conducted by the Office of the AFP Inspector General. The PAF also contributed to peace and security during the rehabilitation of Marawi City, conducted humanitarian efforts during the onslaught of recent typhoons and disasters, and supported the administration’s campaign against illegal drugs.

Before he was named as new PAF Commanding General, Lieutenant General Briguez served numerous significant positions, such as Commander of Western Command; Vice Commander, PAF; Chief of Air Staff, PAF; Commandant of Cadets, PMA; Deputy Wing Commander, 250th Presidential Airlift Wing; Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Operations, A-3; Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Education and Training, A-8; Executive Officer, OA-5; Acting Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Plans and Programs, OA-5; and, Commander, TOG 11.

As the incoming CG of the PAF, Lieutenant General Briguez formulated the new command framework: “Padayon PAF: Perform, Reform, Transform” which embodies his leadership philosophy in the PAF.

Lieutenant General Briguez is a member of Philippine Military Academy "Sinagtala" Class of 1986.
