The new platforms of the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing – five Bell 412 Combat Utility Helicopters (CUH) – that arrived in 2015 have become sedulous in performing various missions in the country especially during the appalling Marawi Siege. These platforms were also utilized by President Rodrigo R Duterte in his visits to Marawi in order to express his desire to end the urban warfare as well as show his support to the Filipino soldiers.

Bell 412 CUHs were used by the Commander-in-Chief as means of transportation because of the courage, dauntlessness, and vigor displayed by the pilots and crew of the 205THW performing air operations.

The 205THW aircrew have been raised and have become used to perform heli-lift operations in high-risk environment.

Because of the trust and conviction of the President towards the pilots and crew flying the new helicopters, he used the same aircraft in his visit in Balangiga Eastern Samar on September 28, 2017 to attend the 116th commemoration of Balangiga Encounter Day.

The 205THW takes pride of its Bell 412 CUHs that are now often utilized by the President in his various engagements, which only manifests the competence and skills possessed by the 205THW personnel flying day and night.

Currently, the Wing’s aircrew are in full force training in preparation for the arrival of 16 more Bell 412 CUHs as indicated in the PAF Flight Plan 2028 which is to provide capable, experienced, and competent aircrew for the conduct of numerous missions, including support to the President’s movement and other tactical heli-lift operations.
