Today, March 16, 2019, Davao City, the hometown of the Commander-in-Chief, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, is celebrating its 82nd Founding Anniversary. Dabaweños fondly refer to the festivity as “Araw ng Dabaw”. The celebration also served as an attraction to tourists, both local and foreign.
This year, the celebration started with a civic parade, which was participated by delegates from different government agencies, to include the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The Philippine Air Force (PAF) personnel deployed at Tactical Operations Group (TOG) 11, Davao City, marched proudly along the city’s streets as the Hornet Flight - Davao performed a series of flower drops over the activity area in front of Davao City Hall. The 206th Tactical Helicopter Squadron of the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing (205THW) continues to provide support to national development by adding spice and color to memorable occasions and events that are worth commemorating, such as this one. The happiness that can be seen through the eyes of the spectators is already enough to consider an accomplishment for our “Katuopips” who are currently deployed in the Durian capital of the Philippines.
