Requirements:
- Unit LOD Status Report
- Death Certificate
- LOD Proceedings
- Death Summary
- Medical Report/Abstract (for health-related death)
- Accident Report (for accident-related death)
Process:
Document requirements submitted by the Survivor NCO / Officer to PGAB are received. PGAB prepares a DF to OAJA to determine Line of Duty Status. Once LOD Status is declared, OA-1 grants approval. OA-1’s LOD approval will be attached with the DF to OAJA as support documentation for declaring beneficiaries. Publication of LOD Orders will follow. The turnaround time is approximately a least 5 days.
