PILOTS AND AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS SHARE EXPERTISE IN COPE THUNDER

The Philippine Air Force and Pacific Air Forces held a civil-military engagement as part of the Cope Thunder PH 2024-1 at Basa Air Base, Floridablanca, Pampanga, on April 18, 2024.

Pilots from the 5th Fighter Wing, PAF; and the Pacific Air Forces engaged with Air Traffic Controllers from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in a discussion focused on the characteristics of the FA-50PH and F-16 aircraft.

NEWLY ACQUIRED C-130H AIRCRAFT JOINS PAF FLEET

The Philippine Air Force formally accepted the C-130H #5157 Tactical Transport Aircraft in a blessing ceremony on May 23, 2024 at Brigadier General Benito N Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

This aircraft, which arrived last February 16, 2024, is one of the two C-130Hs granted by the United States government under the Excess Defense Article (EDA) Program in 2016. The first C-130H was delivered on January 29, 2021.

AIRMEN DONATE BLOOD TO SAVE LIVES

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) formally launched its Blood Donation Activity at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, CJVAB, Pasay City, with MGEN AUGUSTINE S MALINIT PAF, Vice Commander of the PAF.

This initiative, aims to collect over 800 blood bags, is part of a series of pre-anniversary activities for the 77th Founding Anniversary of the PAF. The blood donation drive is conducted in partnership with various medical institutions and stakeholders, underscoring the PAF's commitment to community service and public health.

PAF CHIEF VISITS MILITARY OUTPOST IN MAVULIS ISLAND, BATANES

The Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, Lieutenant General Stephen P Parreño PAF, visited the Naval Detachment in Mavulis Island, Batanes on May 22, 2024.  Mavulis Island, located in the northernmost part of Batanes, is one of the farthest and most remote military outposts that secure the country's borders.

PAF FORMALLY RECEIVES FINAL BATCH OF T-129 HELICOPTERS

Two new T-129 ATAK helicopters were formally accepted in a ceremony at the Philippine Air Force Major Danilo Atienza Air Base in Cavite on May 17, 2024. MGEN ARAUS ROBERT F MUSICO PAF, Commander of Air Combat Command, together with BGEN JULIANO C LLARENAS PAF, Wing Commander of 15th Strike Wing, and other unit commanders and representatives from the 15th Strike Wing and Major Danilo Atienza Air Base Ladies Club, attended the ceremony to welcome the arrival of the advanced attack helicopters.

CA CONFIRMS AD INTERIM APPOINTMENT OF PAF GENERALS AND SENIOR OFFICERS

The Commission on Appointments (CA) confirmed the ad interim appointments of 33 AFP Generals and Senior Officers, including one Major General, one Brigadier General, and two Colonels from the Philippine Air Force (PAF), during the plenary session and deliberation at the Senate Building on May 21, 2024.

PAF CHIEF PINS STARS ON AIBDC KEY OFFICERS

The Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, LTGEN STEPHEN P PARREÑO PAF, presided over the Donning of Ranks Ceremony for two (2) key Officers of the Air Installation and Base Development Command (AIBDC) on May 13, 2024, at Col Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

LTGEN PARREÑO personally pinned the stars on MGEN PABLO E RUSTRIA JR PAF, Commander of the AIBDC, and BGEN GENARO C MENOR PAF, the newly appointed Deputy Commander, AIBDC, in recognition of their exceptional service to the PAF.

Parreño PAF, the Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, led a PAF delegation to the Air and Space Power Conference 2024 (ASPC24) held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra, Australia, from May 6 to 9, 2024. Accompanying him were Ltc Aristides M. Galang Jr. PAF (GSC), Chief of Air Force International Military Affairs, and CMS John I. Roxas, Air Force Sergeant Major.
