AS211 AIRCRAFT PERFORM FLYBY IN 30TH ASEAN SUMMIT SEND-OFF CEREMONY; MAXIMUM SECURITY ALL SET IN MANILA

Two AS211 from the 105th Fighter Training "Blackjacks" Squadron of the Philippine Air Force wowed thousands of government officials, spectators, as well as security personnel and force multipliers during the send-off ceremony held on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park, Manila. This is in connection with the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit which will be conducted on April 26 to 29, 2017 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

According to the PNP Public Information Office Spokesman, Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos, the send-off ceremony “was to show the readiness of security forces.”

Meanwhile, Director Oscar Albayalde, Chief of the National Capital Region Police Office, said that around 26,000 uniformed police officers and soldiers and about 15,000 force multipliers from different government agencies will be deployed for the ASEAN summit who are ready to secure the delegates and the Filipino people.

The ten country members of the ASEAN are: Brunei Darussalam; Cambodia; Indonesia; Lao PDR; Malaysia; Myanmar; Philippines; Singapore; Thailand; and Viet Nam.
