TOE TO TOE BATTLE FOR PAF INTER-UNIT SPORTS TOURNAMENT 2017 BEGINS

As part of the forthcoming 70th Philippine Air Force Founding Anniversary Celebration, the Air Force Special Services Group (AFSSG) officially opens the much awaited PAF Inter-Unit Sports Tournament 2017 held a t the Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Grandstand, Pasay City last April 24, 2017.

The tournament was created to promote sports programs of the Command in order to encourage physical fitness and wellness activities among the military and civilian personnel of PAF.

Also, the tournament intends to select and screen potential PAF Athletes who can compete for the much awaited AFP-PNP Olympics, AFP Challenge and other higher level competitions lined-up for this year.

Over 21 different sports events were all set and ready for battle, these are; Basketball and Volleyball both for Enlisted Personnel and Officers, Badminton, Football, Softball, Chess, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Sepak Takraw, Arnis, Taekwondo, Bike-a-thon, Triathlon, Tug-of-War for men and women, Shooting (Rifle and Pistol), Marathon, Flight Run, 100M Dash (Officers and EP), Swimming, Wrestling, Boxing and Karatedo.

One of the highlights of the event was the parade of all participants together with their lovely muse followed by the neck to neck battle of Tug of War which jump-start the event for this years tournament.

The rigorous battle of events is expected to run until the the second week of June.
