TOG 2 IS FIRST LEG OF CHRISTMAS VISIT
In an effort not to miss any of the far-flung units and facilities of the Air Force throughout the country, Air Force Commanding General, Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP, started the first leg of his traditional Christmas visit to Air Force units beginning in North Eastern Luzon last Friday, November 20, 2009.
First stop of the series of visits was at the Tactical Operations Group (TOG) 2 in Cauayan, Isabela. TOG 2 Group Commander, Col Ronan and his staff led the welcome party set to spread early Christmas cheer to TEAM TOG 2. The ceremonial presentation of the Command Gift immediately followed the inspiring Christmas message of the PAF Chief to the officers and enlisted personnel of the unit.
To bring in the Christmas spirit to the occasion, children from a Barangay Day Care Center that TOG2 has assisted and eventually adopted were invited to the event. The children took turns taking Lt Gen Rabena’s hand for blessing and the PAF Chief engaged the children as he handed over two (2) gift baskets of goodies. The children later sang carols to express their gratitude for the gifts. Later in the program, the Commanding General, with the HPAF Staff led by Col. Romeo Taguinod, the Assistant Chief of Air Staff for CMO A-7, serenaded the children with Tagalog Christmas songs.
After the
program with the children, Lt Gen Rabena received, in behalf of the PAF,
a Certificate of Commendation from Isabela Governor Grace Padaca.
To cap the early Christmas visit, Lt Gen Rabena, presided over the simple ceremonial lighting of Christmas decorations that adorned the facility. As the gathered TOG crowd chorused the countdown, Lt Gen Rabena flicked the ceremonial switch to signal the onset of the Christmas season in the Air Station. #
